After seeing a tutorial on growing greens in "gutters" over on apartment therapy we had to try it. Here is our arugula growing in some eavestrough along the side of our porch. Tastes great and it's a great use of previously unused space, which just makes more room for carrots in the garden. We turned a bunch of it into Shana's arugula pesto. Delicious!
Yum! I love arugula...we've been on a kick lately...using it in everything!!
ReplyDeleteYes, us too! A recipe is coming right up :)
ReplyDeletewe planted a bed of arugula last year (april-ish)and it continued all the way into august! i was surprised at how resilient the plant is. it's wonderful for city dwellers like myself.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a creative gardener!
ReplyDeleteI bookmarked that apartment therapy post for next year! I want to install them on the side our our neighbours' ugly cinder block garage!
ReplyDeleteI just used the last of my arugula pesto - I'm going to make more in the fall with my next round of arugula. I love that it stays such a pretty bright green! It's also really good on a pizza with sauteed mushrooms.
Love it! I grow potatoes/dill/chives in my flower beds! This looks to fresh and yummy.
